Scooters of Tokyo

In Tokyo, space is at a premium, and with tight alley-like roads, traffic-packed main thoroughfares, and limited parking, the scooter is the vehicle of choice for many in Japan’s capital city. Unlike in the US, where scooters are seen more as a fun weekend toy or something to rent at a beach resort for a weekend, in Tokyo, scooters are used for everything from daily commuting to delivery services. Here are a few of the unique scooters I snapped on my recent trip to Tokyo.

  1. I liked the point about how scooters in Tokyo are not just casual weekend rides, but real daily tools for commuting and delivery. That contrast with how scooters are often viewed in the US made the article feel grounded and easy to picture.

It also gave the piece a more lived in feel, and I enjoyed that. Did one scooter you spotted in Tokyo stand out more than the rest?
