I was in high school when the Aston Martin DB7 debuted in the mid-nineties; it did more than launch a new model. It reset the course of an entire marque.

Revealed to the world as a sleek grand tourer with modern proportions and cleaner lines, the DB7 broke away from the hand-built angular era and introduced a design language that still echoes through every Aston on the road today. It carried the confidence of British craftsmanship yet embraced a new global ambition, bringing Aston Martin back into serious conversation with the world’s great performance brands. Under the hood, supercharged power and later V12 thunder backed up the beauty, proving it was more than a pretty silhouette.

Nearly three decades later, you can trace the lineage from DB7 to DB9 to DB11 to the current generation. One bold design leap that reshaped the future.

As we close the door on 2025, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you. This past year was one of the most rewarding chapters yet for The Gentleman Racer.

Together, we crossed continents, chased great roads, explored historic race cars, tested the newest vehicles worth paying attention to, and spent time with the people who keep automotive culture alive.

From the back roads of Italy to classic workshops, racetracks, and long American road trips, the stories were driven by curiosity and grounded in the understanding that cars are about where they take us, and the people they connect us to.

By the numbers, 2025 was our biggest year yet. Millions of readers, tens of millions of social impressions, dozens of vehicles, watches, and whiskeys reviewed, live events hosted, and stories told across five countries.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. What matters most is that you showed up. You read, shared, debated, and cared. That is what keeps this whole thing moving forward.

As the industry continues to chase trends and shortcuts, we remain committed to doing it the long way. Real driving. Real adventures. Real stories worth revisiting years from now. That philosophy guided every piece we published this year, and it will continue to guide us into 2026.
