The BMW 2002

In 1968 BMW unveiled the now-legendary 2002, the model that put BMW on the map internationally and established the brand’s sporting legacy. The car found a strong following in the USA with a new generation looking for something radically different then the LTDs and Cadillacs that were driven by their parents. My father owned one just like the one pictured, in Inka Orange. Out of all the cars he has had over the years the 2002 is the one that he always talks about.

The 2002 remained in production until the 3 Series came along in 1975, but today it has become one of the most collected BMWs ever made.
