Electric Car hopeful Detroit Electric is having to delay the launch of the SP:01, according to a report in The Detroit News. The problem, according to the Detroit-based car company, is securing a manufacturing facility.

Detroit Electric hopes to sell around 1,000 of the $135,000 electric sports cars before expanding its offering to include sedan and hatchback models, which will be based on Chinese cars from Geely.
