Amid the news of leadership changes at Ford Motor Company, the buzz at the Ford booth at Chicago Auto Show was all about the Liquid Carbon Ford GT that was unveiled at a media event on Friday night. Besides just the pretty carbon-fiber limited-edition, the 2020 Ford GT also gets an increase of 13 horsepower thanks to the, now standard, Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, a broader torque band, revised engine calibration plus mechanical upgrades that include gallery-cooled pistons, and higher-energy ignition coils.

The Liquid Carbon edition is expected to have a list price of $750,000 and be limited to just 12 per year for the final two years of Ford GT production. Making it the most expensive and one of the rarest Fords ever sold from the factory. According to representatives at Ford the 2020 production has already been spoken for, so get your application in early for 2021.

Ford GT continues to be the pinnacle of Ford performance, GT is always the ultimate expression of Ford racing innovation, and as we know from the 1966 Le Mans through today, that means constantly raising our game for our customers as well as earning the checkered flag.

The revised 2020 Heritage Edition livery has also be released paying homage to the Gulf Racing Ford GT40s of the 1960s. The new design includes a black pinstripe to divide the distinct blue and orange colors, recalling the 1968-69 Le Mans-winning GT40. The optional number for 2020 is six same as the legendary LeMans winning chassis No. 1075. Carbon-fiber wheels are also available for the first time on the Heritage Edition.
