A Fusion of Track and Road Excellence

The GT2 Stradale is derived from Maserati’s GT2 race car, which marked the brand’s triumphant return to closed-wheel championships. This model encapsulates Maserati’s commitment to infusing racing DNA into a vehicle designed for both the track and the open road. The recent debut in Andalusia offered stakeholders and customers a firsthand experience of its dual capabilities. Participants navigated the scenic routes from Marbella through the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves, culminating in dynamic sessions at the private Ascari circuit near Ronda.

Performance and Engineering Mastery

At the heart of the GT2 Stradale lies Maserati’s formidable V6 Nettuno engine, now delivering an impressive 640 CV (471 kW), a 10 CV increase over the MC20. This powertrain propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds, achieving a top speed of 324 km/h, positioning it as one of the most agile rear-wheel-drive vehicles in its class. The engineering team has meticulously enhanced the car’s aerodynamics and weight distribution, incorporating features such as a redesigned bumper with larger air intakes, a ventilated hood, and a prominent rear wing inspired by the 911 GT3 RS. These elements collectively generate an aerodynamic downforce of 1,100 pounds at 174 mph, ensuring exceptional stability at high speeds.

Exclusive Production and Customization

Production of the GT2 Stradale commenced in December at Maserati’s historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena. The model is limited to 914 units, a figure that pays homage to the brand’s founding year, 1914. Each vehicle features a badge on the central tunnel inscribed with “1 of 914,” emphasizing its exclusivity. Buyers can personalize their GT2 Stradale through Maserati’s Fuoriserie customization program, selecting from various liveries and finishes to reflect their individual tastes.

GT2 Stradale Driving Dynamics and Comfort

The GT2 Stradale’s suspension system has been fine-tuned for both track precision and road comfort. The double-wishbone setup, combined with adaptive dampers, offers drivers the flexibility to adjust settings based on driving conditions. Inside the cabin, the focus is on delivering a driver-centric experience. The interior boasts carbon-shell Sabelt bucket seats, reducing weight by 20 kg, and is adorned with Alcantara trim, exuding a sporty yet luxurious ambiance. Advanced technology, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system and an optional Performance Pack, enhances both convenience and performance.

“From the road to the track and back again: moving from the racing GT2 to its road version was a natural step, to epitomise our brand’s performance. With the road debut of what is the pinnacle of our super sports cars, we have created a perfect platform for the customers of this car, which has also been lauded by the media. GT2 Stradale is 100% made in Modena, a mix of Maserati’s two iconic worlds, those of elegance and racing. It is the upshot of the passion, dedication and pride of all the women and men at the House of the Trident”. Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO

Market Position and Pricing

With a starting price of $699,000 plus on-road costs, the GT2 Stradale positions itself in the upper echelon of supercars. This pricing reflects its limited production, advanced engineering, and the brand’s storied legacy. While it commands a premium over competitors like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and McLaren 750S, the GT2 Stradale offers a unique blend of exclusivity, performance, and heritage that appeals to discerning enthusiasts.

The Maserati GT2 Stradale stands as a testament to the brand’s unwavering dedication to performance, luxury, and racing heritage. By seamlessly integrating track-derived technology into a road-legal supercar, Maserati offers enthusiasts an unparalleled driving experience. As the GT2 Stradale prepares to make its mark on European roads, it not only celebrates Maserati’s illustrious past but also paves the way for its future in the world of high-performance automobiles.
