This past Saturday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and Corvette Racing completed a clean sweep of the GTD PRO titles in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with style, speed, and sheer dominance.
Corvette Z06 GT3.R Sweeps
- Manufacturers Champion: Chevrolet
- Drivers Champions: Antonio Garcia & Alexander Sims in the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R
- Teams Champion: Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports, No. 3 squad
A second‐place finish by the No. 4 Corvette Z06 (piloted by Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg, and Nico Varrone) sealed Chevrolet’s 15th IMSA GT-class title, and its first ever in the GTD PRO division. Meanwhile, Garcia, Sims, and Daniel Juncadella brought home an additional podium with a third-place class finish for the No. 3 crew.
Scott Bell, Chevrolet’s Vice President, couldn’t hide his pride: “To claim the GTD PRO Manufacturers Championship, our 15th IMSA GT title overall, is a tribute to the depth of competition we face each weekend. My congratulations to Corvette Racing, our engineering teams, GM Propulsion, and Pratt Miller for making this sweep possible.”
The season statistics speak volumes. The Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs locked in nine podium finishes between them, including a win at Virginia International Raceway for Garcia and Sims. That duo tallied six top-three results in total. Milner and Catsburg added multiple runner-ups; not only at Petit Le Mans, but also at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and the No. 4 Corvette clocked the fastest qualifying time on Friday, netting Chevrolet crucial bonus points.
Saturday’s results confirmed a full sweep of the GTD PRO crowns. Garcia and Sims now share their first Drivers title together. Garcia becomes a six-time IMSA champion (all with Corvette), while Sims earns his second overall and first with Corvette Racing, he previously won a GTP Drivers title with Cadillac in 2023.

In the Teams Championship, Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller claimed its 16th title since 2001. This marks the 13th occasion in Corvette-Chevrolet history that the manufacturer, drivers, and team titles have all fallen under the same roof.
Eric Warren, GM Vice President, Global Motorsports Competition, added: “Congratulations to Antonio, Alexander, the entire No. 3 squad, and Pratt Miller for securing the GTD PRO Drivers and Teams championships. Their consistency and grit against the world’s top GT competition delivered these titles. We salute Antonio on his sixth championship with Corvette, Alexander on his first in our program and second with GM, and Pratt Miller for yet another championship performance.”
With this win in the books, Corvette’s GT3 teams now shift focus to championships in GT World Challenge America, European Le Mans Series, and the FIA World Endurance Championship, where the Z06 GT3.R competes next.
