While two men sitting in jail awaiting trial on charges of murder from their own deadly street racing incident in Chatsworth, it appears that street racing has claimed yet another life in the Los Angeles area.

According to police the driver of a black Ford Mustang was racing a white Audi near 155th Street and Vermont Avenue at 4:50 p.m. The Ford Mustang collided with a Honda traveling west on 155th Street and flipped over.

The driver of the Mustang was thrown from the vehicle and  pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Mustang described by witnesses as a female was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the Audi fled the scene and is described as a black man, possibly in his 20s. Police are looking for information on the driver who fled.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information was urged to contact the Gardena Police Department at (310) 217-9635 or (310) 217-6189.
