FY Racing Overcomes Engine Failure To Secure 2nd Place In Championship

The final event of the Rally America National Championship, the Lake Superior Performance Rally, took place last weekend in the hometown of FY Racing, Houghton, MI.  As one of the most notoriously treacherous events on the schedule, it would leave several teams struggling to keep it together.

For Adam Yeoman and Jordan Schulze, of FY Racing, an engine failure in their Subaru on Day 1 almost certainly meant a DNF but being their hometown event, the team refused to give up.

The entire team worked all through the night to get the spare engine in the car so they could restart on Day 2 under the Super Rally regulations.  With eleven minutes in penalties, Adam and Jordan knew there was a huge task in front of them to able to make it back into fifth overall to secure the runner-up Championship spot.  “We fought hard all day and eventually finished in fourth.  We certainly made the most of a bad situation and that’s what rally is all about,” mentioned Adam.

“LSPR ended up being bittersweet for us. On one hand we are stoked to have secured 2nd place in the championship but on the other we are bummed that our engine failure and super rally penalties prevented us from being on the podium. The conditions were some of the most difficult we’ve ever encountered but we were solidly in third place on Friday night when the engine let go,” continues Yeoman.  FY Racing continues to prove they are the most resilient team in American Rally.

With the SEMA show right around the corner, the team is quickly fixing damage and getting the car ready to be on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 3rd to 7th on behalf of Exedy Racing Clutches and Rally America.
