Studebaker as a brand is all but forgotten in the world of motorsports, with the exception of one iconic road race, the La Carrera Panamericana. The original La Carrera ran from 1950-1954 and was so legendary it even lent its name to the Porsche 911 Carrera. The race was revived in 1988 as a vintage even in the style of the original cross country road race, and the Studebaker Campion has become one of the most popular cars associated with the revival, and Studebakers have claimed 24 victories over the last 31 years.
