Road Trip Morro Bay

About halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco is a small community that feels like an old fishing village, the city of Morro Bay. Being off old Highway 1 means that you have to plan to go there, the 101 bypasses it completely. Boutique hotels and restaurants line the embarcadero and if you can sneak away during the week the town is fairly quiet. On the weekends, it is a popular destination for the regional car and motorcycle clubs, tourists, and fishermen who come to escape the heat of the Central Valley.

Hotels range anywhere from $59 a night to $400 plus, but many of the smaller boutique hotels offer a nice room within walking distance of the main street for about $70 a night. Seafood is, of course, the main attraction in dining and a wide range of options are available. From Fish & Chips stands to formal sit down restaurants like Windows on the Water.

Less than one hour away are the vineyards of Paso Robles which offer wine tasting, tours, golf, and top-rated resorts and spas. For more information or to plan your trip to Morro Bay visits their official website HERE.
