The Petersen Automotive Museum will be shutting down in October so that the entire facility can be reimagined into a new space that celebrates the automotive culture of California and beyond. Currently the building which was originally the Seibu department store building will be getting a new look and exhibits will focus on Hollywood’s connection to the car industry, technology, the automotive industry and the art of the automobile.

The new space will also house a satellite design studio for the Art Center College of Design (“the world’s leading transportation design school”!).  Work is scheduled to start after the museum’s annual gala on October 18.
