Michael Satterfield, founder and editor of The Gentleman Racer, is a storyteller, adventurer, and automotive expert whose work blends cars, travel, and culture. As a member of The Explorers Club, he brings a spirit of discovery to his work, whether uncovering forgotten racing history or embarking on global expeditions. His site has become a go-to destination for car enthusiasts and style aficionados, known for its compelling storytelling and unique perspective.
A Texan with a passion for classic cars and motorsports, Michael is also a hands-on restorer, currently working on a 1960s SCCA-spec Formula Super Vee, a 1962 Austin Healey, and other project cars. As the head of the Satterfield Group, he consults on branding and marketing for top automotive and lifestyle brands, bringing his deep industry knowledge to every project.

Anthony Fongaro
Anthony is an automotive writer and content creator in Greater Chicagoland. He has produced automotive content since 2016, contributing to various platforms, including his own Anthony On Autos, Car Revs Daily, and Cheers & Gears. In 2024, he joined HotCars as a writer, focusing on reviews, lists, and news within the automotive industry. Before transitioning into the automotive field, Anthony had a career in digital marketing. He is an active member of several automotive media press guilds, including the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA), Automotive Press Association (APA), and International Motor Press Association (IMPA).

Bruce Burnett
Bruce is our resident golf expert. He plays several days a week and serves as the tournament director for the regional golf association. He is always trying the latest and greatest in the golf world and gives us his honest opinion on the gear, equipment, and courses.

Chris Mulvihill
Chris founded Classic Car Advisors in 2007. His passion for cars began as a young boy walking the service department of his grandfather’s Oldsmobile dealership. After graduating from Indiana University, his automobile knowledge expanded to the factory side as a Ford Motor Company Field Manager based in Los Angeles. During his time on the West Coast, he attended many vintage car events where he established deep-rooted friendships in the classic car industry. His appreciation of cars also led to writing articles for popular automotive publications and becoming an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Technician.

Dave McQuilling
An experienced automotive and technology writer and news journalist with a strong interest in AR, VR, and AI. Amongst his other work, Dave is currently producing news, features, and reviews for a number of websites, including SlashGear, Tasting Table, and The Manual.

Erik Bonney
Erik Bonney is a distinguished automotive photographer known for capturing the essence of classic and contemporary vehicles at some of the world’s most prestigious automotive events. His work has been featured at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, where he documents vintage race cars in action at Laguna Seca and Rennsport Reunion V, celebrating Porsche’s racing heritage. He has also covered high-profile auctions such as Gooding & Company at Pebble Beach, exclusive gatherings like Concours and Cocktails at The Preserve, and various other notable automotive showcases. With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for automotive history, Erik’s photography brings the passion and artistry of the car world to life.

Yadon Gifford
Yadon Giffard, an automotive enthusiast based in Las Vegas, brings a fresh yet timeless perspective to The Gentleman Racer. With a career rooted in the automotive industry, Yadon combines his insider knowledge with a passion for motorsports and a deep appreciation for the tactile charm of printed books. A modern-day purist, Yadon eschews social media, focusing instead on thoughtful, hands-on experiences on and off the track. His contributions reflect a love for the art of motoring and the stories that drive us forward.

Jesus Garcia
Jesus R. Garcia is an award-winning automotive journalist from South Texas. He’s a lifelong automotive enthusiast and classic car collector who grew up on a family ranch in Laredo, Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he decided to combine his passion for cars and talent for writing into a viable career in automotive journalism. Growing up in a rural setting gave him a unique perspective on the automotive landscape, which influenced his work. His cowboy writing style and creativity have landed him bylines in automotive websites like The Drive and Motorious and earned him several Excellence in Craft awards hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association, of which he was the youngest member in the organization’s history when he joined at the age of 23. In 2023, he was hired as the automotive columnist for the Houston Chronicle newspaper, contributing weekly car reviews and articles. As of 2024, he is the youngest serving board member to become President of the Texas Motor Press Association.
