Mie Goreng is a staple in Indonesia and can be had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The dish is simple and while most more mainstream restaurants have their own take on the classic dish, you can’t beat the street food version. Bakmi Gandi 73 is located in Northern Jakarta, in an area called Pluit City.

I discovered it on my first trip to Indonesia in 2007, it was our first stop after the airport as it was late and this place is always open. At first, I didn’t know what to make of the small shop with just a few offerings on the menu. But one bite and I was hooked.

If you ever find yourself in Jakarta be sure to stop in and try a bowl, the line can sometimes stretch out to the street, but it is worth the wait. The little restaurant is open seven days a week from 8AM-11PM and generally has a crowd. They also sell a variety of Indonesian Krupuk and Pempek you can eat in the restaurant or take to go.

They don’t have a website but you can find their address and info HERE.

Mie Goreng literally translates to Fried Noodles
Everything is cooked out front by the street.
