Car Guy Movie: Hit & Run

So most of the car movies that come out are mostly bad, but the trailer for Hit & Run (check it out below) seems like it might just be the fun car guy movie of the summer. It stars a Classic Lincoln Continental (loosk like a 66) that has been slightly modified, Corvettes, Caddy CTS-V’s, a crazy Dune-buggy, and appropriately a Dodge Caravan that gets destroyed. Oh there are also some people from Hollywood that occupy drivers and passenger seats in the film. They include Dax Shepard, who wrote and co-directed the film (and who oddly enough Daniel Tosh was making fun of on TV while I was writing this). There is also the lovely Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, David Koechner, and Tom Arnold.

The movie is about “Charlie Bronson” (Shepard), a former getaway driver who drops out of the Witness
Protection Program to drive his girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles so she can
land her dream job. The movie looks like it takes a crazy turn when the old gang tracks Charlie down to collect the money from the job and some restitution for “prison stuff” that can happen when your cell mate is a angry Filipino. From the short trailer it kind of looks like Roger Cormans Grand Theft Auto meets The Hangover.

It looks like the film was shot mostly in So Cal, and it looks like some of the driving takes place on the Top Gear USA test track.
