Honda takes on the 2019 Rebelle Rally, an all-women off-road rally that kicked off today (October, 10) in Lake Tahoe. The eight-day rally traverses Western Nevada, into Southern California ending at the Imperial Sand Dunes. Unlike Baja or the Mint 400, this off-road rally is about navigational skill, as the teams must hit checkpoints within a set window of time, using a map, compass, and guide book. The ladies representing Honda this year are all engineers from Honda’s R&D research centers in California and Ohio and will be driving a Honda Ridgeline and a Honda Passport.

The Ridgeline team dubbed “Team Challenging Spirit is driven by Sharon Moore, HRA senior engineering technician based in Torrance, California, and navigator Michelle Klein, HRA crash safety test engineer based in Raymond, Ohio, has returned for her second year.

I want every woman to experience this type of life-changing event of facing their own inner fears of failure with bravery, endurance and determination, last year’s Rebelle Rally was a transformational experience for me and I am grateful for the opportunity to mentor and help new drivers cross the finish line.

The team behind the wheel of the 2019 Honda Passport, “Team Sand Mode” features driver Liz Casteel, HRA chassis reliability test engineer, and navigator Tasha Krug, HRA engine systems and drivability test engineer, both are based in Raymond, Ohio.

I am excited for the Rebelle Rally and look forward to facing the challenges that it will throw at us, it is a unique event that will bring our Honda team even closer through the adversities we will overcome.
