According to Mercedes CEO, Dr Zetsche Aston Martin and AMG have reached an agreement that will see AMG powered Astons in three to four years. The companies have been in talks for a few years and reached a tentative agreement back in July, but this is the first time we’ve been given any real idea on a timeline.

“Aston’s new investor was convinced that it would be helpful to associate with someone with experience in fast car technology,” Zetsche told us. “When you make decisions like this it usually takes three to four years to see the results.”

The rumor-mill has it that AMG supplied turbocharged V8 engines, gearboxes and electrical components will be part of the next generation of Aston Martin. Replacing the current range that are holdovers from the days of Ford ownership. Ford currently still supplies the V8 and V12 engines for the DB9 and V8 Vantage.
