When AC Cars unveiled the GT SuperSport, they weren’t just launching a new model. They were throwing a gauntlet onto the carbon-fiber floor of the ultra-exotic automotive arena.

Born from a lineage that birthed the AC Ace and gave rise to the mythic Shelby Cobra, this latest creation is not an homage to the past. It’s a full-throttle, 1025-horsepower war cry, wrapped in aerospace-level aerodynamics and handcrafted exclusivity. Only 25 will be built. You won’t find this on a showroom floor next to anything with cupholders.

Fittingly, the GT SuperSport is the first major unveiling from AC Cars America LLC, the brand’s new U.S. operation, a sign that the British marque is embracing its historic American ties.

GT SuperSport: A Cobra in a Tuxedo

The SuperSport’s silhouette echoes the soul of the Cobra, but with the volume turned to eleven. From the widened stance and dominating rear wing to the aggressive new grille and dramatically sculpted bodywork, this is no retro tribute. It’s a reimagining, what happens when a century-old brand decides to play in the deep end with the Bugattis and Koenigseggs.

Under the hood, there’s a purpose-built V8 that delivers up to 1025 bhp. That’s not a typo. One-thousand-and-twenty-five. And unlike the over-digitized techno-rockets flooding the market, this car stays true to the drama of raw engineering. It’s less “smartphone on wheels” and more “Apollo-era moonshot with leather seats.”

GT SuperSport: Made for Drivers

Each car is a bespoke commission. AC Cars America offers full client consultation, ensuring no two SuperSports will be identical. Pricing starts at $550,000 before tax, and with such limited production, an invitation is harder to get than a Pebble Beach parking pass.

According to AC Cars CEO David Conza, “It is fitting that we launch our most formidable model with AC Cars America. The AC GT SuperSport will cement itself as a true icon of automotive engineering.”

His American counterpart, Jeremy Stein, added, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime offering. Each build will include commemorative features, and there are three bold livery options that nod to America’s racing heritage. It’s not just fast, it’s historic.”

NO, Its Not a Shelby

To understand why this car matters, you have to understand where it comes from. AC Cars is the oldest active vehicle manufacturer in Britain, tracing its roots to the Weller Brothers’ workshop in West Norwood, London, back in 1901.

By 1953, AC had produced the Ace, an alloy-bodied sports car that was ahead of its time. Then came the transatlantic lightning bolt, Carroll Shelby dropped a Ford V8 into the Ace, and the Cobra was born. The rest is legend.

That Cobra shape, hunched like a sprinter in the blocks, never went out of style. But AC Cars isn’t living off past glories. The new GT SuperSport and the broader AC Cobra GT range signal a bold new chapter. With facilities in the UK and Germany and an expanding footprint across Europe, the brand is sharpening its edge while keeping one hand on the past.

Only the Bold Need Apply

This isn’t the kind of car you stumble across while shopping for a daily driver. It’s a deliberate acquisition, a celebration of motorsport heritage infused with modern madness. AC Cars America is taking reservations now, but preference goes to existing clients. This is a car for the inner circle—those who speak the language of raw horsepower, hand-rolled panels, and purpose over practicality.

In a world saturated with EV crossovers and sterile design, the AC GT SuperSport is something different. It’s loud, it’s fast, and it doesn’t care what your HOA thinks. For those lucky enough to secure one of the 25, it’s not just a car. It’s a weaponized legacy.

  1. They really captured the look of the classic Cobra with a modern evolution, it doesn’t look like a bad kit car!
