Pushing The Limits Of Time: H. Moser & Cie. Unveils Streamliner Alpine Editions At Spanish Grand Prix

This weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix, H. Moser & Cie. is doing more than just celebrating their partnership with Alpine Motorsports; they’re redefining what it means for a luxury watchmaker to contribute meaningfully to Formula 1. Eschewing the typical co-branded timepieces built on surface-level synergy, the Swiss manufacturer has introduced two revolutionary watches born from collaboration, not just co-branding: the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition.

Together, they form a dual statement, one mechanical and one digital, and a rare example of horology crafted with function, feedback, and speed at its forefront.

A Shared Pursuit: Precision and Performance

When Moser teamed up with Alpine in 2024, the goal wasn’t to swap logos and add a splash of racing blue. It was a deeper question: how could a 200-year-old independent Swiss watchmaker actively support a Formula 1 team? The answer is in these two watches, designed not only with Alpine, but for Alpine.

From the cockpit to the pit wall, these Streamliners reflect a shared ethos of pushing limits, crafting tools, and finding beauty in engineering. They are not just commemorative timepieces; they’re purpose-built instruments forged in the crucible of racing.

Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition: Skeletonized Speed

Worn by Alpine drivers themselves, the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition is a horological tribute to the single-seater’s soul. The timepiece features a fully skeletonized dial, giving a full view of the AGENHOR-developed HMC 700 calibr, and for the first time ever, it appears in this ultra-light, openwork form.

Every component of the dial tells a motorsport story: V-shaped bridges nod to the triangulated suspension of F1 cars, while the central bridge is shaped like a driver’s helmet. Even the rotor mimics the design of an Alpine A110 wheel rim. Drenched in Alpine’s iconic blue and white color scheme, the Drivers Edition is both expressive and efficient.

Functionally, it’s engineered for the track. The flyback chronograph for central seconds and minutes keeps the dial clean and legible. The horizontal clutch, column wheel, and 72-hour power reserve ensure that this watch performs with the same kind of reliability demanded from a Grand Prix power unit.

It’s aggressive, elegant, and driven by purpose, much like the Alpine F1 car itself.

Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition: Digital Utility Meets Swiss Craft

For every driver behind the wheel, there’s an army of engineers, strategists, and mechanics making victory possible. The Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition is dedicated to them — a high-tech, race-enhancing timepiece designed as a working tool for those who can’t afford to waste a second.

Co-developed with the Alpine team and powered by a new SEQUENT-based connected calibre, this model is a blend of digital innovation and analog sophistication. The “magic” screen remains black until activated, then bursts to life with an F1-specific suite of features: split-second chronograph, perpetual calendar, race countdown, and synchronized alerts for race operations.

Compatible with iOS and Android and offering a remarkable one-year power reserve in analog mode, this isn’t another disposable smartwatch. It’s a tool built to survive the punishing rhythm of a 24-race season.

Yet, Moser hasn’t abandoned its identity. At 12 o’clock, a domed Funky Blue fumé dial with traditional hands and the brand’s logo in transparent lacquer reminds us this is still Haute Horlogerie, just evolved.

The Beginning of a New Legacy

This release marks the first chapter of a long-term collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports. The watches are available together in a bespoke case, limited to just 200 sets globally. The Mechanics Edition is also available separately to owners of the 2024 Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine in blue or pink.

Both pieces are less about marketing and more about mission. From the wrist of the driver gripping the wheel at 200 mph, to the engineer timing pit stops down to the millisecond, these Streamliners serve as tangible proof that when watchmakers and race teams share a vision, the result is more than a luxury accessory, it’s a new kind of instrument, built for those who live by the second.

  1. Limited to just 200 sets globally, these editions are bound to become collector’s items. The bespoke case housing both watches adds to their exclusivity. It’s a strategic move by H. Moser & Cie. to cater to both watch aficionados and motorsport fans.

  2. The Mechanics Edition intrigues me. Integrating a SEQUENT-based connected caliber with features like race countdowns and synchronized alerts shows a forward-thinking approach. It’s refreshing to see a luxury brand embracing digital innovation without compromising on aesthetics. The one-year power reserve in analog mode is impressive.
