Against the breathtaking backdrop of snow-covered peaks and a frozen lake, Maserati unveiled its latest expression of open-air performance—the new GranCabrio—at The I.C.E. St. Moritz, a prestigious automotive event where elegance meets extreme conditions. The Italian marque, synonymous with high-performance luxury, showcased not only the 490-CV version of the GranCabrio but also an exclusive, one-of-a-kind GranCabrio Trofeo ONE of ONE – THE I.C.E., a testament to Maserati’s bespoke craftsmanship and passion for personalization.

The GranCabrio An Open-Top Grand Tourer Reinvented

The GranCabrio has long been Maserati’s answer to those who seek both unbridled performance and the romance of top-down motoring. Now, with the introduction of a 490-CV variant, the brand completes its most diverse and capable GranCabrio lineup yet, offering a range of powertrains from the twin-turbocharged V6 to the potent 550-CV Trofeo and the fully electric Folgore.

Draped in a stunning Verde Giada exterior, the GranCabrio took center stage at St. Moritz, exuding Italian elegance and engineering prowess. The car’s bold lines were accentuated by 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Crio (Imola) diamond-cut gloss black wheels, while black brake calipers and 3D carbon-fiber finishes added a modern, performance-driven edge. The interior, wrapped in ice-colored perforated full-grain leather, delivered a sensory experience of luxury, further enhanced by the Maserati Trident logo embroidered on the headrests.

The new 490-CV model retains the brand’s commitment to grand touring excellence. Powered by the 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno Twin Turbo, this convertible can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just four seconds, with a top speed of 300 km/h. More than just a numbers game, the GranCabrio’s all-wheel-drive system and air suspension ensure that every journey is both thrilling and comfortable—whether cruising the winding coastal roads of Italy or carving through alpine passes in the Swiss Alps.

Performance Meets Prestige: The ONE of ONE Trofeo

Maserati’s ability to blend cutting-edge performance with exclusive craftsmanship reached new heights with the introduction of the GranCabrio Trofeo ONE of ONE – THE I.C.E. This bespoke creation, designed through the brand’s Fuoriserie customization program, embodies the ethereal charm of winter.

Finished in an exclusive Ice Liquid tri-coat paint—a dazzling three-layer hue inspired by the frozen lake on which it made its debut—the Trofeo ONE of ONE stood out as a masterpiece of automotive artistry. The visual drama continued with forged Astreo-design wheels, gloss blue brake calipers, and a Blue Marine soft top, which, when retracted, revealed an exquisite ice-colored leather interior accented with 3D touch carbon-fiber trims. The vehicle’s contrasting white side air intakes further emphasized its bespoke nature, making it a true collector’s piece.

Italian Luxury at The I.C.E. St. Moritz

The I.C.E. (International Concours of Elegance) St. Moritz is more than just a gathering of classic and modern performance cars—it is an immersive experience where automotive heritage meets contemporary craftsmanship. Maserati, as a brand deeply rooted in motorsport and luxury, took full advantage of the event’s unique atmosphere to present its latest creations.

Beyond the GranCabrio, Maserati’s presence was felt throughout St. Moritz. The Grecale SUV made its way through the picturesque streets, turning heads with its sculpted design and versatile performance. Meanwhile, the brand’s racing pedigree was underscored by the presence of the MCXtrema and the new Maserati GT2 Stradale, two machines that represent the company’s commitment to competitive excellence.

Adding to the spectacle, vintage Maseratis graced the event, including the legendary 6CM and the 200 SI, both of which participated in the International Concours of Elegance. These timeless classics served as a reminder of Maserati’s rich racing heritage and its ability to build vehicles that stand the test of time.

An Invitation to the Maserati Experience

With the unveiling of the GranCabrio and its custom Trofeo variant, Maserati has reaffirmed its commitment to the art of grand touring. Whether it’s the thrill of open-air driving, the pulse-quickening acceleration of a twin-turbo V6, or the unmatched exclusivity of a custom-built masterpiece, the new GranCabrio range offers something for every discerning enthusiast.

As Maserati opens orders in March for the new Sports Exhaust option—promising an even more adrenaline-fueled auditory experience—the brand continues to refine what it means to drive an Italian grand tourer. From the streets of Modena to the icy glamour of St. Moritz, the GranCabrio is the perfect driver’s car for the winding roads of Europe.

For those who demand the pinnacle of style, performance, and craftsmanship, the Maserati GranCabrio checks a lot of boxes, but just remember it is still a Maserati…
