The pickup truck scene in North America is about to witness a significant addition, with the INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster deliveries expected to happen by the end of March. The first units bound for the North American market of the off-road focused double cab pick-up have started production at INEOS Automotive’s state-of-the-art facility in Hambach, France, marking a pivotal moment for enthusiasts and professionals seeking a blend of classic design and modern engineering. European customers started taking delivery of the truck in early 2024, and we drove the Grenadier Quartermaster to the SEMA show in late November.
The Quartermaster draws its name from the military role responsible for logistics and supply management, a fitting moniker for a vehicle designed to handle demanding tasks. As the largest model in the Grenadier lineup, this five-seat double cab pick-up features a chassis that is 12 inches longer than the Station Wagon variant. This extension provides ample space for passengers and cargo, ensuring that both can be accommodated without compromise. Built upon a sturdy box-section ladder frame chassis, the Quartermaster is engineered to excel in both off-road adventures and heavy-duty hauling.

Grenadier Quartermaster Specifications
Under the hood, the Quartermaster is powered by a BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, delivering 281 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring a manual override, providing drivers with flexibility and control in various driving conditions. The vehicle boasts a towing capacity of 7,716 pounds, making it well-suited for transporting heavy loads, whether for work or recreation.
The Quartermaster’s design emphasizes both functionality and durability. Its extended wheelbase of 127 inches contributes to a total length of 212.6 inches, providing a spacious interior and a generous bed length of 5 feet. The vehicle’s ground clearance stands at 10.4 inches, allowing it to navigate challenging terrains with ease. Despite its substantial size, the Quartermaster is designed to offer a comfortable ride, with a suspension system that balances off-road capability with on-road comfort.

Inside, the Grenadier Quartermaster combines practicality with modern amenities. The cabin is equipped with durable materials and features designed for ease of use, including easy-to-use intuitive controls that can be operated even while wearing gloves—a nod to its utilitarian roots. Standard features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, and a tilt steering wheel. The vehicle also offers modern connectivity options, ensuring drivers remain connected and navigate urban environments or remote trails. We drove it nearly 2,200 miles and found it to be very comfortable and while it is built for off-roading, the ride was surprisingly smooth on the highway.

The Grenadier lineup has garnered significant attention in North America, with the Station Wagon model receiving a warm reception since customer deliveries began in late 2023. The Grenadier Quartermaster is poised to build upon this success, offering a compelling option for those seeking a vehicle that delivers both rugged performance and everyday usability. Order books for the Quartermaster opened in early April 2024 for U.S. customers and in May 2024 for Canadian buyers, with pricing starting at $86,900 in the U.S. and CAD $96,695 in Canada. The first customer deliveries are anticipated before the end of the first quarter of 2025.
Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, expressed confidence in the Quartermaster’s potential impact in the North American market, stating, “The Grenadier has had an incredible reception in North America, and we’re confident the Quartermaster will continue to build on that success. Its combination of world-class off-road ability, load-lugging versatility, and daily refinement means it will cope with the toughest conditions but still be a great drive on the highway. A true enabler for freedom and outdoor adventure.”
With the introduction of the Grenadier Quartermaster, INEOS Automotive is set to strengthen its presence in the North American market. The vehicle’s blend of robust engineering, practical design, and modern features positions it as a compelling choice for adventurers, professionals, and enthusiasts alike. As production ramps up and deliveries commence, the Quartermaster is poised to make a significant impact on the landscape of rugged utility vehicles.
