Review: Eques Dark Knight 40MM Special Edition

Eques is an interesting watch brand. Their most expensive watch is the massive Eques Nightwing we reviewed back in January, which costs just $200. The watch we are reviewing today, the Dark Knight, has a list price of only $125. It is limited to 50 timepieces, and it is an obvious homage to the Royal Oak

The first thing I have to say is that the watch looks really good up close; the finish is nice on the case, and the charcoal dial and black stainless steel work well together. It is super thin with a 7mm thickness, and the flat back makes it very comfortable on the wrist. Like the Eques Nightwing, the bracelet falls a little short, in my opinion, but for this price point, it is acceptable. I am not a big fan of integrated bracelets simply because that means you can’t do one of my favorite things and change out straps.

The Dark Night has a reliable Japanese Miyota Movement and sapphire-coated mineral glass, and the overall finish is very good. If you are on a budget and looking for a good-looking watch that is a step above the Invicta, Armitron, or Timex watches at this price point, keep the Dark Knight in mind.
