The 2024 Cadillac XT4 has undergone a major facelift, and it’s nothing short of impressive. With a plethora of new features and a refreshed exterior, the XT4 is now at the top of its game and has positioned itself against some of the biggest players in the market, such as the BMW X1, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Mercedes GLB.

One of the most notable changes in the new XT4 is its increased size, making it longer and wider than its competition. This has resulted in best-in-class passenger interior space and ample cargo space. The seats are incredibly comfortable, offering excellent support and providing ample under-seat foot room. Furthermore, the visibility is top-notch, with an optional massage function in the front that can be activated with a single button, making longer drives a lot more enjoyable.

Under the hood, the XT4 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four and nine-speed automatic, which deliver 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. While these figures are average for the class, calibration tweaks have bumped up the EPA ratings by 1 mpg in the city and nudged the combined rating up by 1 mpg for AWD models only. The brakes are amazing on the XT4, offering an excellent feel with no fade or pulling off line; I will say that the paddle shifting isn’t great, so just leave it in automatic mode and enjoy the drive, it’s sporty, but not BMW M sporty.

One of the most significant upgrades in the new XT4 is the Lyriq’s huge, curved 33-inch 9K-resolution LED screen, which comes as standard. The big screen is generally well utilized and offers abundant options for what is displayed on the leftmost few inches to the left of the wheel, behind the wheel, and on the infotainment section. Additionally, there’s Google Built-In, standard 5G connectivity with Wi-Fi, and three years of OnStar remote access.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 model range is priced at the median price of all new vehicles sold today, with entry-level front-drive models starting at $43,190 and fully loaded AWD Sport models coming in at $57,215. The interior is just as tech-forward as a BMW X1, but with vastly superior ride quality and more relaxed performance. The Luxury trims get a more interesting new grille composed of Cadillac emblems and ride on even comfier 18-inch tires, making them the preferred choice. Ultimately, for those willing to shell out the extra cash, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is worth every penny.
