RAM Truck has unveiled the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, solidifying its position as North America’s leading off-road truck manufacturer. The Ram 1500 RHO is the latest addition to the company's performance truck lineup, offering unparalleled value with more horsepower per dollar than any other off-road offering.
The vehicle is powered by the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engine from the Stellantis Hurricane Twin-turbo family. This engine delivers an impressive 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque while also providing higher fuel efficiency and producing fewer emissions than other naturally aspirated V-8 and boosted six-cylinder engines in the light-duty segment.
The 3.0-liter Hurricane H/O SST engine is the most powerful six-cylinder in the segment, making the Ram 1500 RHO an uncompromising off-road performer with relentless capability. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers quick, crisp gear changes during both normal and performance driving conditions. This new powertrain is also 150 lbs. lighter than the previous performance model, which contributes to the vehicle's enhanced agility and faster reflexes.
The Ram 1500 RHO features a high-flow air induction system with a hood duct that prevents water and debris from reaching the engine and keeps the truck breathing only clean, cool air. A high-capacity radial air filter is housed in an open-top air box that allows for easy access and quick field cleaning.
The vehicle's exhaust system incorporates a Sport Tune low-restriction system with true dual pipes running from the front to the back of the truck. This feature, along with a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case that enables passage through any off-road obstruction or weather condition, makes the Ram 1500 RHO a formidable off-road machine.
The vehicle's independent front suspension system with active performance damping uses high-strength aluminum to maintain strength and durability. The suspension system includes unique front upper and lower control arms made of forged aluminum, with special attention paid to the caster and camber angles during suspension cycling, providing additional wheel travel and axle track width. The retuned spring rates, jounce bumper, and damping control enhance performance and endurance.
The Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks use precision-machined, single-piece construction comprised of rigid aluminum to reduce and dissipate heat and continuously adjust damping forces for optimal body control and terrain isolation. The adaptive performance shocks feature robust corrosion protection, with a durable finish and directional-machined cooling fins aligned with airflow for more effective cooling.
The Ram 1500 RHO's suspension management system, new shock tuning, hard points, and body mount strategy improve ride comfort, body roll control, and handling. The proprietary Ram Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management system, along with the enhanced urethane jounce bumper and internal three-stage progressive hydraulic Jounce Control (Jounce Cut-off), provides bottom-out control during the most extreme compression events. All drive modes can reach peak compression damping for the most extreme events.
The Dana 60 on the vehicle provides superior strength and durability and is equipped with an electronic locking differential that provides the necessary traction for off-road adventures. The Ram 1500 RHO is truly an off-road beast that offers uncompromising performance, power, and capability.
As part of Ram’s Core/Electric/Sport approach, the Ram 1500 RHO expands the company's Sport light-duty lineup that already consists of Warlock and Rebel. The vehicle is built in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and is scheduled to arrive in dealerships in the third quarter of 2024. It starts at $69,995, not including $1,995 destination, and orders are open now.
