First Drive: 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63

 TGR Staff – 11/09/2023

Mercedes-Benz never ceases to impress us, we spent some time in the AMG C63 and have to say that it is the perfect balance of power, performance, and luxury. Here are five things you need to know about the AMG C63.

Unleashed Power: 2023 or 2024 You Can’t Go Wrong

The heart of the 2023 Mercedes AMG C63 is the last of the 503 horsepower 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, as next year we will find a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder teams up with a 201-hp electric motor, creating a powerful plug-in hybrid system. This marriage of petrol and electricity results in a staggering 671 horsepower, but it will be hard to match the sound and feel of the outgoing V8.

Eco-Friendly Thrills: Electrified Driving Experience

Since there aren’t really any 2023s on the lot, the 2024 C63 will offer a taste of the future with its plug-in hybrid setup. The onboard 4.8-kWh battery pack enables approximately 6 miles of all-electric driving, perfect for silent commutes or navigating through urban areas with zero emissions. But you will be losing the raw power of the V8.

Efficiency Meets Performance: Fuel Economy Revolution

While the EPA hasn’t officially disclosed fuel economy figures for 2024, the downsized engine and hybrid system promise a significant improvement over the current 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The 2024 C63 aims to blend performance with efficiency, offering an exciting driving experience with an eco-friendly touch. Stay tuned for updates as the new model tackles the 75-mph highway fuel economy test route.

Mercedes-Benz never ceases to impress us, we spent some time in the AMG C63 and have to say that it is the perfect balance of power, performance, and luxury. Here are five things you need to know about the AMG C63.

Luxury in Every Detail: Elegant Interior

Step inside the C63, and you’ll find a cabin that seamlessly blends luxury with sportiness. While retaining the elegance of the standard C-class, the interior boasts unique upholstery, stitching patterns, and AMG-branded sport seats designed for both comfort and weight savings. The 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, canted towards the driver, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display ensure a high-tech, user-friendly experience. Expect top-tier features like a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled seats, and four-zone automatic climate control for a truly refined driving experience.

Tech Savvy and Safe: Cutting-Edge Driver Assistance

We would expect that the 2024 C63 will be similar to the 2023, prioritizing safety and technology. Equipped with an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a potential Burmester stereo system, the tech features are bound to impress. Standard driver-assistance features include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. For tech enthusiasts, an optional adaptive cruise-control system, utilizing navigation data for upcoming curves and roundabouts, adds an extra layer of sophistication to the driving experience.
