New Watch Inspired by the Porsche 356 Speedster

Reservoir is a unique Swiss brand that features a unique movement and dial that are inspired by the instruments of sportscars, ships, and aircraft. Unlike most watches that draw upon these themes, Reservoir’s movement mimics an actual gauge, like a tachometer, with a swiping minute hand and the hour displayed in what looks like a date complication. Another unique feature is the “fuel gauge” which shows the power reserve of the automatic movement at a glance.

This new watch, dubbed the Kanister Silver, is inspired by the instrumentation found on the iconic Porsche 356 Speedster and joins the rest of the automotive collection including the original Kanister, which has more of a sports watch appeal with its colorful dial. The new Kanister Silver offers a more classic and understated style that can be worn with a racing suit or a dinner jacket.

Priced from $4,400 the Reservoir Kanister Silver is in the ballpark of the Tudor Pelagos, the Breitling Superocean Heritage 57, and the Omega Railmaster, all from legendary Swiss brands, but the Reservoir boasts the same Swiss manufacturing and is sure to be a conversation starter among watch enthusiasts. I have yet to put my hands on a Reservoir but I plan to visit their local Authorized dealer in Houston on my next trip to see one firsthand and will be back with a hands-on review.
