Project Grand Wagoneer

by Michael Satterfield – Updated: 07/19/2021

As promised we will be doing some new project car builds here on the site and on The Gentleman Racer YouTube Channel. In addition to getting the 1962 Austin Healey Sprite out of storage, we have just picked up this 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

The Jeep has been sitting since the early 2000s and being a native Texas vehicle is rust-free and in very good condition overall. Other than the missing grille and a few trim pieces the Wagoneer is complete and ready to be rebuilt into the ultimate family hauler. While we are still working on the design detailers here is a rough outline of the project:

  • Modern drivetrain and brakes
  • Repaint and restore the exterior
  • Enhance and restore the interior
  • Modern Soundsystem
We will roll out more on our plans after the first of the year, want to give a big shout-out to Ram Trucks for loaning us the new Ram Rebel to tow home our new project.

At first glance, Kate Cook’s artwork might seem like a paradox—a seamless blend of classic oil painting techniques with the high-octane world of automotive enamels. Her signature approach, which she calls "Artemotiv," merges the meticulous craftsmanship of fine art with the raw energy of hot rods and muscle cars. But spend a few minutes with Cook, and the paradox resolves itself into something more profound: an artist who has not only found her lane but paved it herself.
