Monterey Car Week is home to some of the most exclusive events in the automotive world, but while many events can be hard to get an invite for, or have four-figure ticket prices, some events are so exclusive that they aren’t even published for public consumption. Thankfully our friends at Santa Lucia Preserve did extend an invitation to their very private Concours event, held within the exclusive 20,000-acre private community and nature preserve.

Held at the Hacienda, a historic 1920’s home and the original ranch house that once overlooked polo fields, is now home to a few guest rooms, the club’s restaurant, and the perfect setting for an evening with some amazing machines. Unlike the rest of the events happening around the Monterey peninsula, which draws collector cars from around the world, the Preserve’s collection of cars are all owned by members of the community. Many of these cars will be seen at other events, but for tonight they are home and among friends. It must have been how the early Pebble Beach Concours once was, a group of dedicated enthusiasts sharing their automotive passion in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Unlike most events, during car week this intimate event allowed guests the opportunity to chat with the owners and see the cars without the massive crowds or safety ropes. Concours and Cocktails was also a featured stop for the Luxury Rally Club Countach Rally who added a number of modern and vintage supercars to the lawn.

At first glance, Kate Cook’s artwork might seem like a paradox—a seamless blend of classic oil painting techniques with the high-octane world of automotive enamels. Her signature approach, which she calls "Artemotiv," merges the meticulous craftsmanship of fine art with the raw energy of hot rods and muscle cars. But spend a few minutes with Cook, and the paradox resolves itself into something more profound: an artist who has not only found her lane but paved it herself.
