The Great Race Kicks Off in Texas

It was a hot start to the 2021 Great Race which left from San Antonio, Texas today. We caught up with racers at the first stop in San Marcos, Texas where the drivers stopped to cool down and grab lunch. The Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty Drivers Club has 150 participants driving everything from a 1917 Peerless Green Dragon to a 1974 Peterbilt 359 tractor rig. This year’s route takes teams north through Texas, across Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, and North Carolina, before finishing in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday, June, 27th.
