Boating Season is Here Use Dockwa To Help Plan the Perfect Summer

If you bought a boat today, would you know how to reserve a spot at a marina you’re traveling to as you explore the coast or enjoy a local lake? Many new boaters assume that marinas are like a parking lot at a local mall, but most marinas require reservations and will turn away watercraft that haven’t booked a space. A new smartphone app called Dockwa hopes to help first-time and experienced boaters streamline their water-bound adventures by creating what is best described as the “OpenTable” for the boating industry.

Instead of calling marinas one at a time to try to book a slip up to 48 hours in advance, Dockwa allows boaters to see what is available in real-time for future and immediate bookings. On the heels of a recent $14.2M Series B funding round, Dockwa’s parent company, The Wanderlust Group, has connected more than 250,000 boaters with more than 15,000 marinas across the country. In fact, Dockwa bookings in Q1 2021 are up 182% YoY and show no sign of slowing down.
