Ferarri has unveiled the 488 GT Modificata, the carmakers latest limited edition track-only sports car for gentleman racers. Buying a Modificata means you will only be allowed to drive it at Ferrari Club Competizioni GT events. The car features the best of the Ferarri 488 GT3 and the 488 GTE but is unleashed from the FIA Balance of Performance restrictions.

The 488 has been one of the most successful GT racers in Ferrari history with over 350 wins and 630 podiums in national and international races secured by the 488 GT3 and GTE. The new 488 GT Modificata features a completely revised high-downforce aerodynamics, shifting the pressure center forward generating higher downforce at the front without increasing overall drag.  Apart from the aluminum roof and uprights, the bodywork is entirely in carbon-fiber like the 488 GTE. 

The innovative, Bosch supplied, onboard telemetry data acquisition system allows data to be downloaded directly onto a USB stick. Coupled to a high-resolution rear-view camera, second seat, and TPMS system for measuring tire temperature and pressure teams can make the most of their data from each lap.

To qualify for a 488 GT Modificata, which will be custom-tailored to each driver, a buyer will have had to already participanted in the Competizioni GT with Ferrari or Club Competizioni GT programs. In 2021, customers will have the chance to participate in five events on tracks that bring out both the handling and dynamic qualities of the cars, such as the Virginia International Raceway, Monza, Watkins Glen, Suzuka, and Nurburgring, as well as the Finali Mondiali

The 488 GT Modificata will be admitted to Club Competizioni GT events, a program designed to bring back to the track the most significant and successful cars in the recent history of Ferrari closed­ wheel racing. Alongside the F40 Competizione to the more recent 488 GT3 and GTE.
