Class Action Lawsuit Over Defective Corvette Wheels

A law firm has filed a class-action lawsuit against General Motors LLC in United States District Court, Northern District of California, over claims wheels installed on the 2015-2019 Corvette Z06 and 2017-2019 Corvette Grand Sport were prone to bending and cracking. The suit claims that the rims are “allegedly” defective because Chevrolet didn’t opt for a forged wheel and used a lighter weight design that sacrificed strength resulting in the wheels cracking under “normal driving conditions.”

This issue has been brought up on CorvetteForums.com with many users reporting that they had issues with bent and cracking rims which were denied under the factory warranty.

Additionally, the class action complaint alleges that GM dealerships haven’t been honoring their 3-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, denying claims, costing owners thousands of dollars out of pocket to replace the wheels. According to the Kehoe Law Firm, U.S. purchasers or lessees of either a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (2015-Present) or Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport vehicle (2017-Present) could opt to become part of the class action.
