FordPass, the mobile app that allows vehicle owners to remotely start/stop/unlock their vehicles, schedule maintenance, chat with Ford Guides, and a host of other features is now offered without a subscription. The complimentary FordPass service was introduced in 2016 and original required customers to via one, two, or five-year trial subscriptions.

Owners also get to take part in the FordPass Rewards customer loyalty program, where members earn points that can be redeemed for complimentary maintenance and can earn points on service spending at participating Ford dealerships. This change makes Ford the first full-line automaker to offer remote app-based vehicle features without a subscription. This does not include the Wi-Fi hotspot feature, which still requires a subscription from AT&T.

This approach truly sets us apart in the industry, we know that keeping our customers connected and engaged is key to building a deeper relationship with them.

FordPass Connect also works with SYNC® to offer 911 emergency notification and assistance, providing first responders with the information like the GPS coordinates of an accident when an airbag deploys, the emergency features work even if you don’t have FordPass on your phone, just simply pair your mobile device to SYNC® and the emergency features are enabled.
