VW’s New Pickup Truck

The midsize pickup truck market has been heating up again, with the success of the Chevy Colorado and Ford’s all-new Ranger, it isn’t any wonder that Volkswagen, the second-largest carmaker in the world has been teasing a new truck concept.
This new concept is already confirmed to launch in the Brazilian market with just a few minor tweaks and could make it’s way stateside.

“This new pickup’s potential is so great, however, that the vehicle concept could conceivably be suitable for other regions.”

Scheduled to be unveiled at the São Paulo International Motor Show on 6 November, the Volkswagen pickup concept1, which is based on the Tiguan compact SUV, making it smaller than the current Volkswagen Amarok which is sold in the rest of the world. The Tiguan, unlike the Amarok, is built in Puebla, Mexico for the North American market, leading some to speculate that Volkswagen could be bringing a truck back to the US Market. This might not be far off as earlier this year VW showed off the Tanoak pickup truck concept at the New York International Auto Show.
