The 1967 Formula 1 season is remembered by those who were there as the Golden Age of Grand Prix racing, its cars, and drivers among the most iconic of any era. The beautiful Scarbo Performance SVF1 evokes memories of the period in a fabulous track machine modeled after the magnificent 1967 Formula 1 racer campaigned by the boys from Maranello, Italy. The first prototype built, this is Serial No. 001-P, one of just two examples now in existence in a production series limited to just one car per year.

At first, look the SVF1 could easily be mistaken for a Grand Prix car of the period that inspired it. Weighing in at a svelte 1,280 pounds and powered by a 425 HP GM Performance all-aluminum LS-series V-8 engine mated to a 5-speed H-pattern transaxle, it serves up a level of performance that is more than a match for any Grand Prix car of the era. Its handcrafted aluminum bodywork closely replicates that of a certain 1967 Italian Formula 1 entry right down to its blood-red paint, but it covers a chassis constructed of 4130 chrome-moly tube steel engineered to up-to-the-minute standards for the ultimate in safety and performance. Riding on a fully adjustable and expertly designed wishbone suspension, the Scarbo SVF1 rolls on Avon historic racing slicks fitted to gold-anodized 6061 T6 forged-aluminum wheels closely modeled after the 1967 Italian Formula 1 entries.

Adding to the overall vintage presentation is the SVF1’s “bundle-of-snakes” exhaust that produces the same piercing note as the original. A sensational and evocative racer engineered to provide a driving experience like no other, SVF1 001-P qualifies for and has raced in both SVRA and HMSA competition; it qualified on the pole in the highly exclusive Thermal Club Invitational, finished in the top five at the Coronado Festival of Speed and competed in the Vintage Nationals at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

The car will be auctioned by Mecum at Monterey Car Week, see the full auction listing HERE.

At first glance, Kate Cook’s artwork might seem like a paradox—a seamless blend of classic oil painting techniques with the high-octane world of automotive enamels. Her signature approach, which she calls "Artemotiv," merges the meticulous craftsmanship of fine art with the raw energy of hot rods and muscle cars. But spend a few minutes with Cook, and the paradox resolves itself into something more profound: an artist who has not only found her lane but paved it herself.
