Shift, a San Francisco-based startup that combines technology and a team of car concierges to take the hassle and guesswork out of buying and selling cars, today announced its California BMW Giveaway contest. The winner will receive any BMW listed on Shift’s online marketplace for $20k or less, or can apply $20k to the purchase price of any BMW they choose.* California residents interested in entering can visit the Shift Facebook page.

“We are excited to announce our BMW car giveaway,” said Shift CEO George Arison. ” In just 2 years, Shift has become the number one seller of used cars in the Bay Area and BMW has consistently been our number one selling car. This contest is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers.”

In addition to the BMW grand prize, Shift is partnering with Navdy, Turo, and YourMechanic to give away dozens of partner prizes on June 26th.

Shift, which launched in 2014, uses technology to take the hassle and guesswork out of buying and selling a car. Its comprehensive concierge service model sends a Shift “Car Enthusiast” to deliver free on-demand test drives or perform on-site appraisals and car pick-ups. Sellers are guaranteed a minimum sale price for their vehicle, and earn, on average, thousands more through Shift than by selling through traditional dealers. Buyers pay, on average, thousands less than the dealership retail price.

Shift has raised more than $73.8 million in total funding, with $23.8M in its Series A round, led by DFJ and Highland Capital, and $50M in Series B financing, led by Goldman Sachs Investment Partners.

*You must be a California resident over the age of 18 to win. We’ll announce the winner on July 10 on our Facebook page. Good luck!

At first glance, Kate Cook’s artwork might seem like a paradox—a seamless blend of classic oil painting techniques with the high-octane world of automotive enamels. Her signature approach, which she calls "Artemotiv," merges the meticulous craftsmanship of fine art with the raw energy of hot rods and muscle cars. But spend a few minutes with Cook, and the paradox resolves itself into something more profound: an artist who has not only found her lane but paved it herself.
