Last week I was invited to tour the Toyota USA Museum in Torrance, California by Discover Torrance. The collection houses a wide variety of Toyota vehicles from the rare and exotic 2000 GT to one of a kind movie cars, the collection also has an excellent representation of Toyota's racing heritage.
The museum is housed near Toyota USA headquarters in a nondescript warehouse building within an industrial park. Open by appointment only, the tour starts off with a short video that showcases Toyota's history in Japan and America. Once the video was done I was free to wander around some of my favorite cars in the world, an FJ Cruiser, AE86 Corolla GTS, a Supra TT, and three 2000 GTs.
Towards the back of the warehouse is a small section where the racing cars are on display, from IMSA, Indycar, NASCAR, Midget,, and even several of cars from the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race are lined up and displayed with racing memorabilia.
