Chopard: Grand Prix de Monaco Historique

Chopard has been the official timekeeper of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique since 2002. The Monaco Historique is one of those once-in-a-lifetime events every car guy should experience. I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the event while traveling through France years ago.

Inspired by the classic single-seaters from the 1970s, the snailed grey dial perfectly complements the 18-karat rose gold bezel and crown while the stainless steel case back, stamped with the logo of the Monaco Automobile Club, adds a touch of contrast to the titanium case. A timepiece at once technical and streamlined, beating with a movement that is chronometer-certified by the COSC. My favorite part is the details, the holes in the strap remind me of the classic Moto-Lita steering wheel in my 69 Mini Cooper, and speaking of steering wheels there is one on the winding crown.
