If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area this weekend you should be sure to swing by William Turner Gallery. The gallery will be hosting an exhibit of Camilo Pardo’s work “The Shelby Years” featuring a selection of his automotive art focused on the cars crafted by Los Angeles Sports Car Legend Carroll Shelby on August 24th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. The gallery is less than 4 miles from the original Shelby factory where in 1962 Shelby started building his legendary Cobras.

Camilo is best known as the designer of the Ford GT, which recreated the legendary Le Mans winning GT40. He is also currently starring in new TV show called Motor City Masters  on TruTV.

The event will also serve as the launch of The Shelby American Team Film a major motion picture about Carroll Shelby and the team of men and women who worked for him at the Venice, California facility between 1962 and 1966, legends like Ken Miles, Peter Brock, Phil Remington, Bob Bondurant and Joan Sherman. The team that beat Ferrari in the FIA Championship and won Le Mans. Patrick Kriwanek, Producer/Director of the film will also be presenting at the exhibit.

Portions of the proceeds from this evening’s event will be donated to the Legends Connection Fund which maintains this important history and the annual Shelby American Team Employees reunion.
