The guys over at Ran When Parked shared that BMW is preparing to restore a 1957 507 roadster that once belonged to Elvis Presley. It turns out that the King bought the car when he served in the United States Army in Germany. Chassis number 70079 has had a rough life, Elvis left the car in Germany, but it looks like another serviceman brought the car back to the states later.Where it was turned into a Chevy powered drag car… ouch. As you can see its pretty hammered, but BMW classic is planning on restoring the car to its former glory.
The car was originally white, the story goes that Elvis painted it because women kept writing their phone numbers on the white car with red lipstick. Check out more photos and info at RanWhenParked.net
