The Gentleman Racer’s latest project is an exciting build of a Meyers Manxter 2+2 kit car, set to debut at the 2024 SEMA Show and then embark on a Flag Expedition for The Explorers Club. The build is a tribute to Bruce Meyers' iconic original Manx dune buggy but with modern updates that enhance both performance and usability. The Manxter 2+2 is a longer, more versatile version of the classic design, able to accommodate four passengers, making it ideal for both off-road adventures and urban driving.
This project is more than just a showcase vehicle. As part of the prestigious The Explorers Club’s Flag Expedition program, the Manxter 2+2 will be outfitted to tackle a range of extreme environments, from deserts to jungles, symbolizing the spirit of exploration and innovation that Meyers Manx has stood for since its inception.
The build will include a range of modifications to ensure it performs under harsh conditions, such as advanced suspension systems and high-performance tires provided by Toyo Tires. While the final powertrain remains a surprise, the vehicle will be unveiled at SEMA with a focus on both aesthetics and capability.
After its appearance at SEMA, the Manxter 2+2 will set off on an international journey as part of the 2025 Flag Expedition, carrying one of The Explorers Club’s historic flags, previously carried by icons like Neil Armstrong and Sir Edmund Hillary. This adventure will be documented on The Gentleman Racer’s YouTube channel, highlighting not just the build process but also the exciting expeditions to follow.
