In the world of automotive rebirths, where classics are reimagined, a new name has risen to prominence: KAMManufaktur. Their creation, the 912c, is nothing short of a contemporary marvel inspired by the iconic 912 sports car. And the accolades it's garnered in just one year since its debut? Nothing short of spectacular.
The essence of KAMManufaktur lies in its commitment to crafting lightweight cars designed for the road. Every classic donor car that graces its workshop undergoes a meticulous transformation, returning to its former glory. This process lays the groundwork for the masterpiece that is the KAMM 912c. Out with the old steel, in with the new KAMM-produced carbon fiber. Each bespoke component, painstakingly designed and built in-house, adds to the car's performance while preserving its classic aesthetics and the sensory thrill of analog driving.
Miklos Kazmer, the visionary founder of KAMM, brought the 912c to the UK for an extensive tour from April to August this year. The media reviews were nothing short of a love letter to this automotive work of art. They lauded the 912c for its raw driving pleasure, featherlight construction, and unwavering focus on the driver. The consensus? This is a car built to conquer fast B-roads and track days while still offering the everyday practicality and timeless style of a classic.
Miklos Kazmer's passion for the 912c was palpable. "It is important for a new brand like KAMM to be seen," he explained. "Rather than wait for people to come to us, I prefer to take the car to the enthusiast, throw the doors open, and let people have a good look around. Of course, I am always there to discuss the car as needed, and many seem to really appreciate it when the creator of a car is happy to talk people through it. In many instances, I am happy to take them for a drive, too."
During its UK tour, the KAMM 912c covered a staggering 11,000 miles, including a journey to and from KAMM Headquarters in Budapest.
Miklos emphasized, "Driving the car is part of the KAMM ethos. Sure, we could transport the car on a trailer, but the 912c was designed from the outset to be a usable car, and what better way to demonstrate that than by driving it all across Europe. Along the way, we visited suppliers in Holland, Germany, and Switzerland before driving all over England and Wales. The car performed flawlessly, undergoing over 20 media evaluations while it was here."
Miklos shared his gratitude, saying, "When you launch a new car, from a new brand, you always hope others like it as much as you do. To have such a great reaction from press and enthusiasts was humbling. We are delighted to have sold all four build slots allocated for 2023. The first production 912c will head to the USA within the next few months, with the others heading to Europe and Australia once completed. Every client journey has been a pleasure, and each car will be very different from the rest. That is the beauty of KAMM – we build the car our clients want, using our expertise to guide them along the way to create the 912c that best suits their lifestyle."
Unlike other restomods, the KAMM 912c effortlessly blends period-correct aesthetics with modern improvements. It's a classic that, at first glance, seems untouched by time. Yet, beneath its vintage charm lies an array of unseen enhancements. It's a classic reborn, a dynamic racer that tantalizes the senses while offering a level of practicality seldom found in traditional classics.
The KAMM 912c is set to embark on a global tour, with stops in the USA and Dubai. It will return to the UK in 2024, showcasing the latest evolution of this automotive gem – a full carbon bodyshell. The journey continues, and the legend of the KAMM 912c is far from over.
For those captivated by this modern classic, a note of hope: 2024 build slots are now open for reservation.
