BMW has recently unveiled the highly anticipated BMW Concept Touring Coupé at the esteemed Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2023, marking its world premiere. This unique closed two-seater, designed for exclusive production, upholds the rich legacy of legendary BMW classics, embodying timeless freedom on four wheels and the sheer joy of shared journeys.
With the BMW Design team's visionary approach, the traditional body shape of an elegant sports car has been reimagined, giving birth to the striking shooting brake concept. Stepping inside the vehicle, one is immediately enveloped in a luxurious ambiance created by the meticulously crafted leather surfaces sourced from the renowned Italian manufacturer, Poltrona Frau. The interior exudes opulence and offers a generous compartment behind the seats, providing ample room to stow luggage for spontaneous trips. To further enhance its exclusivity, the luggage itself has been masterfully custom-made at the prestigious Schedoni leather workshop in Modena.
This one-of-a-kind BMW Concept Touring Coupé pays homage to the enduring fascination of automobiles. It's grand unveiling at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2023 situates the vehicle within a historical context, surrounded by iconic classic cars that have brought immeasurable joy to owners and admirers alike over the decades. Presented in the picturesque town of Cernobbio, Italy, this unique car serves as a tribute to the timeless allure of the automobile.
“The BMW Concept Touring Coupé celebrates the original Sheer Driving Pleasure,” says Domagoj Dukec, head of BMW Design. “A highly emotional vehicle like this shows that the passion for everything that goes into driving pleasure has been essential through the ages and will be for the future.”
The handcrafted and unparalleled BMW Concept Touring Coupé seamlessly blends a body concept steeped in tradition with the cutting-edge technology of a modern-day purist sports car. Its proportions and nomenclature pay homage to the iconic BMW 328 Touring Coupé, which claimed victory in the historic Mille Miglia endurance race back in 1940. The shooting brake concept's functionality, reminiscent of the "Touring" variants of the early 1970s BMW 2002 Series, sets it apart from conventional sedans. Every intricate detail, from the distinctive badges on the rear and interior, draws inspiration from the model insignia of its illustrious predecessor. Powering this remarkable vehicle is BMW's signature six-cylinder in-line engine, delivering unrivaled performance and refinement that firmly establish it as the epitome of pure, unadulterated Sheer Driving Pleasure.
