The recent Goodwoof event at the Duke of Richmond's Goodwood estate was a delightful gathering for dog enthusiasts. Approximately 8,000 dogs of various sizes congregated, including a rare breed known as the Bentayga S, which held a special place in the competition.
Dubbed 'Bentley the sheepdog,' this remarkable canine earned itself some well-deserved treats. After successfully herding lambs, ewes, and rams during one of the festival's most beloved activities, Bentley received a thorough pampering session consisting of a wash, vacuum, and charge for its hybrid motor. Adorned with a 'Bentley' dog tag and sporting a striking black and white body wrap, Bentley roamed around Goodwood's Kennels and spectator areas, growling and barking with determination, before diligently guiding its woolly companions into the appropriate pen.
The magnificent matte coat, meticulously designed by Rich Morris, the creative mind behind the livery of the Unifying Spur—a Flying Spur art car that has traveled the world to champion Bentley's commitment to diversity and inclusion—took an impressive four days to complete. Bentley the Sheepdog, however, is dedicated to directing livestock and chauffeuring pampered pooches and their beloved human companions.
The name 'Bentley' befits this handsome and proud hound, particularly among British breeds. At Goodwoof, all dogs adorned with the 'Bentley' tag granted their owners access to the Bentley Barking Paddock, alongside the drivers of B-badged cars.
Furthermore, the four-legged posers received the VIP treatment, with the Pup-arazzi capturing their every move under the glare of flashing bulbs. A wind-machine was even set up to give the dogs their moment in the spotlight, ensuring they looked their most fetching. As they poked their heads out of a Bentayga vehicle, the stage equipment fluttered their ears and locks in the breeze, creating a scene reminiscent of a music video.
