Duckworth Overland of Bristol has taken the iconic Land Rover Defender and mated it with the aeronautical styling of a Bowlus travel trailer to create a timelessly classic luxury overlander. The Defender Aerover, starts with a custom Land Rover Defender 130 chassis, outfitted with self-leveling air suspension, and a fresh Td5 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel that features a remapped ECU, uprated injectors, and a performance clutch. Owners can also opt for a custom drivetrain from a BMW X5 for those looking for a more modern driving experience and an automatic transmission.
The habitation pod is hand-formed aluminum over a lightweight aluminum framework. The bodywork is insulated with spray foam for those cooler nights out on the trail, it features a solar-charged electrical system that powers the climate control, cooktop, and entertainment system. Designed to sleep to three occupants comfortably, or two adults and two smaller children, the Aerover is the perfect family escape vehicle for a great weekend in the country.
Each Aerover is bespoke so clients can modify the floor plan for different needs. From a house of wheels to a purpose-built adventure vehicle for upland hunting, the team at Duckworth can create the ultimate Defender-based camper.
