The 2004 Porsche Carrera GT originally owned by 2009 Formula One World Champion Jenson Button sold just sold for $975,000 USD during an extremely busy holiday weekend on the Collecting Cars auction platform.
A total of 37 bids were submitted for the Carrera GT, which was presented to 2009 Champion Button, who captured the coveted title with victories in Australia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Spain, Monaco, and Turkey. The Porsche Carrera GT comes with a letter from Button’s personal assistant, confirming the racing driver’s prior ownership. Also included is the original and exceptionally rare, boxed pewter sculpture of the V10 engine. A gift presented to future owners upon ordering a Carrera GT, this set is adorned with a plaque engraved with Jenson’s name.
