Update: It appears that Self/ish Skin has been discontinued as their website is down and they have not posted on their social since August 2021. The product is also no longer listed at any retailers.
Random boxes show up at my PO Box all the time, random packages have included a hand-painted portrait of myself from a fan in Asia, hate mail from about SEMA show cars I have "ruined", and most often products from companies that are hoping I will do a story on their products or mention them on social media. Very few unsolicited products make their way on the site, mainly because I promote products I actually use and trust. The box from SELF/ish sat for a few months in the pile of unopened boxes until it was time to clean up my office, which included going through all the mail.
The packaging was nice, and they included a few other items like a nice canvas Dopp Bag from Topo Designs, in fact, it is the exact same Dopp Bag I have used and it is always nice to have a backup. The timing was also perfect because I had recently run out of the House 99 face moisturizer. The package from SELF/ish included a lot more, face wash, moisturizer, and under-eye cream.
Before simply slathering random mailbox lotion on my face, I confirmed it was sent from the brand and checked out the ingredients, and decided I would give it a test. The first thing I noticed is that none of the SELF/ish products have a strong scent, which is nice, as I often wear cologne and don't need a product with a competing scent.
While all of the products were high quality, the Oil-Free Moisturizer was by far the most impressive, unlike many moisturizers, it didn't linger on the surface of your skin or leave any unwanted residue and is perfect for post-shaving skin irritation. I also was impressed with the Eye Cream, which I feel really did help reduce undereye puffiness.
Pricing is very good, for example, SELF/ish Oil-Free Moisturizer is nearly half the price per ounce of the House 99 moisturizer I had been using. With a great US Made product, fair pricing, and the fact that $5 from each Facial Cleanser and Facial Scrub goes to charity, SELF/ish should be on your list of men's grooming products to check out.
You can only order SELF/ish online via Selfishskin.com, but they do offer free shipping and you can also get a free sample of another product with each order.
While SELF/ish did send me sample products, this is not a sponsored post and all opinions are my own.
