A few months ago we reported that the Reality TV stars, the Diesel Brothers could be facing millions of dollars in fines for modifying emissions controls on trucks. According to The Salt Lake Tribune, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Shelby has ordered the Diesel Brothers to pay $851,451 in penalties for violating the Clean Air Act. The defendants have been ordered to pay $761,451 to the federal government and $90,000 to Davis County, Utah.
This fine doesn't include attorney's fees which the Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment, who brought the lawsuit, are requesting to the tune of $1 million, in addition to their own fees which their attorney disclosed to the court were $1.2 million. If the Diesel Brothers are found to be modifying emissions systems in future the could find themselves in contempt of court and face harsher penalties.
