Every Daytona watch bound for the United States had a three-letter export code stamped on its movement. However, watches not made for export, do not have the stamping. It remained in Switzerland, making them even more desirable to today's collectors. Today it’s estimated that there are less than 400 of the Ref 6241 left, and of those, only a small fraction even have the coveted John Player black and gold dial.
Prices for a rare Rolex like this can range between $400,000-$800,000.
