TGR: What was your first car?

LK: The First car that I could afford was a 1988 VW Fox, I did fix her up externally, I also had an 80 shot single fogger nitrous system on her.

TGR: What got you into cars and why did you choose the car you currently have?

LK: I grew up within a family who had muscle cars, my mom has (yes still has) a 1974 Corvette Stingray, and my father had a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner, growing up as a child I knew nothing else except going to the street races and twice a year attending NHRA Winternationals and World Finals. Since I was a young child I have always wanted to be a race car driver.

The reason I chose the 2011 SRT8 was because my father had sold his Roadrunner and was missing it very much, I had only heard they were coming out with the 392 so when they released it I told my dad I'm going to buy one so we can go to car shows, frequent the track and have a father-daughter fun project  car. I remember my father calling me while I was at work telling me “Lisa you have to come to this dealership after work they have a 392 hidden in the back!” I totally pictured my father peeking over a fence just stalking the car haha! I went there soon as I got off work, at first they tried to sell me an R/T and I was saying to the salesman no, I'm looking for an SRT8, he told us to give him a minute and came to the front with this beautiful brilliant black with 2 silver stripe challenger.  There it was, the hidden SRT8, which now I possess.

This car has a lot of sentimental memories to it and will remain in my life forever, 3 years into the fun my father had a massive heart attack and didn’t survive so, it holds a lot of laughter, smiles, and shit talking!

TGR: What modifications have you done to your daily car?

LK: At the moment we have very little mods we have a Mopar CAI kit, and of course In my opinion the best exhaust systems on the market which is Borla not to mention they were a strong supporter for many years on my Drag Cars (civic had a full Borla exhaust system in the pro class, and the Saturn had a Borla Header) and a Mopar Sway Bar

TGR: Tell me about your race car.

LK: The Nitro Mafia/Coker Tire Nitro Funny Car is a 1978 Plymouth Arrow body, on a Plueger Chassis. The Block is a TFX 426CID. AJPE cylinder heads, NMR Top fuel connecting Rods, Racetec top fuel pistons, Darton Sleeves, Total Seal piston Rings, Henry Velasco crankshaft, NMR Camshaft, NMR single stage centrifugal clutch, Valve train Ferrea Valves, Ignition is Zig Magnetos, Headman Headers,NGK Spark Plugs, Waterman mechanical 20 gal spec fuel pump, Mert Littlefield blower, Enderle Injector hat, Rear end and axels are Strange Components, Transmission/Reverser are Lenco, wheels by American Racing Wheels, Fuel Nitromethane 90% per rules, All oils, and Lubricants provided by Entech Oil, safety equipment by DJ Safety.

TGR: Do you work on own your car?

LK: Back when I didn’t have a team I absolutely did work on my cars. I've assembled full long blocks, taken trannys off to drop the clutch. I did this because I knew in order to become more in tune with my cars and team I needed to know every moving component and decipher whether its mechanical or tune up issues with the engine and driveline if the race car was acting strangely.
After I had left the Sport Compact Industry I worked on A Big Show Top Fuel Funny Car so, there I was taught how to build and tear down one of those race cars as well, I was also taught how to work with Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass for repairs on the body.

TGR: What is next for your car?

LK: Good question! We’ve been talking with Bob and Scott (Cousimano) of Nitro Mafia Racing and they want to put one of their proven 426 stroker engine combos in Chally, possibly after that a screw blower, we definitely will be beefing up the Stock NAG 1 tranny which appears to be an issue once 600 plus Hp at the wheels is achieved

TGR: Where can people follow you on social media?

LK: People can learn more about my race team on NitroMafiaRacing.com they can also follow along on my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Team Page
